SLRC all good at West Virginia’s Good Evening Ranch

Kids, Crawlers, Side-by-Sides and Street Class go wild

CANVAS, WEST VIRGINIA – It was a packed field in four classes at the Street Legal Rock Crawling (SLRC) Good Evening Ranch event in West Virginia! Dale Stotlar (Ohio) claimed victory in the Open Unlimited Class, narrowly edging out David Book by a 99-point margin (-1583 to -1367). The difference? Each gate completed by the drivers was good for -100 points (the lower the better), but you gained one positive point per reverse.

There’s your ballgame.

Rock Crawling can be a kids game, big or small. So small in fact that that three youngsters were competing at a time some of us were not even allowed to drive a riding lawn mower. (Hey, it was my grandfather’s fault I hit the house.) Nine-year-old Sawyer Sherwin, with her father John (Michigan) doing the spotting took home the top honor with a -1583 on the Street Class courses. Hunter Mason was right behind her (-1367) and Lil’ Dale – we’re talking loves mom and Snack Pack’s little – wrapped up with a -688. One of these kids is going to be a fighter pilot.

Rounding out the class winners was Jeremy Graham in Drag Axle (-875), Craig Hunter in SxS (-1686) and Pat Schneider in the street class (-1371).
