Wellington win streak up to four as Gibbs makes history

All-time scoring record still climbing

WELLINGTON – A special moment for Wellington girls basketball and senior center Jaylen Gibbs on Wednesday. Gibbs broke Darla Devoe’s over 30-year-old school scoring record, with 14 points in a 42-19 victory over Keystone.

Jalen Gibbs enters the record books. This put-back made her Wellington’s all-time leading scorer with nine games remaining on the regular season. (1/22/2020)

A pivoting jumper with 2:23 to play in the third quarter stopped the action as the 6-foot Gibbs was flocked by teammates and honored by the home crowd.

Wellington has nine games remaining on the regular-season schedule as Gibbs new scoring record will continue to climb.
