Madison posts dozen runs, shutting out Falcons on road

Blue Streaks draw 10 walks, six in five-run 7th

JEFFERSON – The Madison Blue Streaks (6-2) turned in a unique combination of statistics to earn a 12-0 win over Jefferson (5-6) on the road, Monday. Brendan Titman, the last batter in the lineup, walked and scored three times. The leadoff hitter – Ben Amos – never crossed home plate but got on base with two hits and had a cleanup-like three RBI. And to top it off, three players combined in the seven-hole to go 1-for-2 with two walks, two runs and an RBI.

Dom Lawrence was 3-for-4 with two runs scored while Brandon Kristoff added a hit with two waks and pair of scores.

Miscues did in the Falcons, after keeping a relatively even pace thru the first three innings of the game. Jefferson was tagged with four errors in the contest and 10 walks (six coming in the top of the 7th). Trailing 1-0 in the fourth inning, Madison expanded for a five-run lead.

Junior Eddy Gvora got the win on the mound for the Blue Streaks, tossing a three-hitter. He walked five and struck out eight.

ON DECK: Both teams will start over as they square off again (today) Tuesday, this time – at Madison.
