It was rivalry week in Lorain County football. A night after Avon Lake stunned Avon ending the Eagles 28-game regular-season win streak, the Lorain Titans (2-1) sped past Elyria (0-3), 40-7 at the new Mercy Health Field at Ely Stadium.
The speed-laden Titans blew open a 12-0 game late in the second quarter and didn’t look back. The big-play capability of juniors RB Daylin Dower and WR Tyshawn Lighty wore down the Pioneers defense that bent, but never completely broke.
