History Heads Home For Columbia

BROOKLYN – Columbia High is on the verge of something special – again. Senior tailback Brandon Coleman needed just 260 yards heading into Friday’s matchup at Brooklyn to tie the school and Lorain County rushing record set by fellow Raider Dustin Intihar in 2002 (4,778 yards).

Friday’s outcome was expected, as Columbia rolled to a 49-0 win over the Hurricanes – with one caveat: Coleman only getting two first-half carries for 36 yards (one a 24-yard touchdown).

Already with a season high 233 yards in Week 3 win over Northwestern, Coleman is averaging a career best 10.5 yards per carry. Needing only 224 to tie the record now – he will have the chance to do it in front of his home crowd next week against Fairview (3-5).

Come back Saturday night and we’ll recap just how strong this Columbia team is, highlighting the key plays behind this victory, led by the strength of their passing game!
