Second half suits Lakewood
ELYRIA – After trailing by eight at halftime, the Lakewood Rangers reversed fortunes to edge host Elyria Catholic 74-69 in the EC Holiday Classic on Saturday.
Lakewood dropped four three-pointers in the third quarter to outscore the Panthers, 22-14. They would not trail again. Senior forward Nate Mims scored 15 points (including 7-of-8 at the free throw line in the final frame). Junior forward Pete Patsouras led the Rangers with 21 points.
Elyria Catholic senior shooting guard Edward Wright had a game-high 26 points in the loss. Junior guard/forward combo Jaret Frantz added 12 points – all on three pointers (one in each quarter).
