Flying feathers: Falcons upend Warriors, 48-38, to kick off sectional play

JEFFERSON – Jefferson (11-11) held on to an early double-digit lead to beat Edgewood, 48-38, in the opening round of the D-II Sectional Tournament on Saturday.

Falcon junior Kennadie Mullen had a team-high 16 points including key three-pointers to thwart several comeback attempts by the Warriors.

Edgewood freshman Kaci Kanicki dropped a game-high 19 points in the loss.

Junior Ava Contenza and sophomore Taylor Skinner each added 10 points for the Falcons. They advance to play on the road at #2 Perry in the second round, Thursday, at 7 pm.
